Despite years of upgrades, the operating system is still "pretty crappy"

A Reuters report claims that Microsoft's Windows operating system "still sucks" even after years of upgrades and changes.

"We've previewed the newest release of Windows XP and it's still pretty crappy," said John Thornholder, technology reporter at Reuters. "I don't know if Microsoft is trying to make garbage or what."

Over 1,533,454,091 bugs were found in the latest release of Windows XP.

"I think counting bugs in a piece of beta software is unfair," said Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer while sipping on some burbon. "We still have another year before we release it to the public." When Balmer was informed that the ship date for Windows XP was October 25, he screamed "Son of a b****! We'll never get it finished by then!"

But bugs in Windows are nothing new. Windows 2000 had 756,234,651 bugs when it was released. Windows 98 had 563,443,171, and Windows 95 had 349,123,563.

And don't forget about Windows 3.0 which had 234,865,231 and Windows 2.0 which had 174,743,653. Windows 1.0 is considered to have just one bug, because the entire operating system wanna-be was just a big giant bug in itself.

"If Microsoft wants to maintain its dominant position on the desktop, they have to stop making software that sucks," said Guernsey Research analyst Chris LeTocq. "In the days of Windows 3, Microsoft didn't have to care about making something that actually works well. Most people thought it was normal to reboot your computer 17 times a day. One Windows user called Microsoft's help line and was actually told that the 'blue screen of death' was a feature that told you you've been working too long and should take a break."

MacComedy asked Homer Simpson what he thought of Microsoft's latest operating system. His response?

"It's the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked!"
